2022 Call for Poster Abstracts
Once again it is time to start thinking about the Poster Presentations for the LSHP Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held May 19-21, 2022, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, 2 Poydras St. We would like to challenge each of you to participate in the Poster Session being held in conjunction with the exhibits at the Annual Meeting on Friday, May 20, 2022. Poster Presentations are a means of communication of new ideas and services with your colleagues. Subject matter may consist of administrative projects, clinical projects or studies, case studies and novel procedure outlines.
An Interactive Poster Session (ACPE Approved) will be featured. The goal is to encourage networking and enhance member involvement in our educational program. All posters are peer reviewed and approved by the Annual Meeting Committee.
All topics and abstracts should be submitted on or before Friday, April 29, 2022 via email to [email protected]. (See guidelines below for submitting abstracts.) Once you submit an abstract you will receive a confirmation email from the LSHP with the details of your assigned space. If you do not receive a confirmation email from the LSHP office, you have until Friday, April 29, 2022, to contact Mary Coll the LSHP office by telephone or email. Absolutely no additional abstracts or requests will be accepted after 5:00 pm on April 29, 2022.
No more than two entries will be accepted from any person as either author or co-author of a presentation (exceptions must be approved by the Annual Meeting Committee).
Achievement awards as well as a cash award will be presented in the categories of clinical, research and administrative practice, in addition to awards for student and technician posters. Awards will be presented to the practitioner according to abstracts and the poster presentation at the meeting. To encourage membership and member involvement ONLY LSHP members are eligible to receive cash awards (e.g. if the first author is not a member, the award goes to the next author that qualifies in order listed on the poster).
Please encourage your staff to get involved! It is a great opportunity for students, residents, new pharmacists and technicians to gain presentation experience and network with members. I am sure your institution has just the right program to be presented as a poster. All poster session presenters must register for the LSHP Annual Meeting in order to present.
CE Session - Once poster abstracts are received, they will be reviewed by the PPE committee for appropriateness. Any number of posters may be included in the CE session, but participants will only have to complete 12 assessments in the 1-hour session to receive CE (the idea being 5 minutes per poster x 12 posters = 60 minutes). This will allow for more meaningful interaction between presenters/attendees.
Non-CE Session – Once poster abstracts are received, they will be reviewed by the PPE committee for appropriateness. Attendees will receive a card with assessment questions where they can keep track of what posters they have visited. If more than a certain number of posters are visited, they will be entered into a drawing for a door prize.
