TYPE OF ACTIVITY/WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
This knowledge-based activity is of importance to all pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of this activity, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Describe the clinical presentation and diagnosis of patients with alcoholic hepatitis.
2. Identify the prognostic tools used in clinical practice for alcoholic hepatitis.
3. Discuss the literature for the use of steroids versus pentoxifylline in alcoholic hepatitis.
4. Discuss the pharmacotherapy options and place in therapy for the treatment of alcoholic hepatitis.

At the conclusion of this activity, pharmacy technicians should be able to:
1. Define alcoholic hepatitis.
2. Identify brand/generic names of the pharmacological options for the treatment of alcoholic hepatitis.
3. Identify the dosage forms of the pharmacological options for the treatment of alcoholic hepatitis.
