Notice of Rulemaking Activity from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy

Regulatory Project 2016-6 ~ Marijuana Pharmacy

Authorized by Act 261 of the 2015 Legislature as subsequently amended by Act 61 of the 2016 Legislature, the proposed new subchapter of rules establishes standards for the testing, packaging, and labeling of marijuana products as well as the dispensing of those products in pharmacies licensed by the Board.  The Board has filed its First Report with the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health & Welfare.  The Notice of Intent is scheduled for publication in the January 20, 2017 edition of the Louisiana Register, and as indicated in that notice, the Board will conduct a public hearing on March 2 to receive comments and testimony on the proposed rule.
