Speaker Biographies


Nedra Copelin, Pharm D

Dr. Nedra Copelin is a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice resident at the University of Louisiana Monroe. She is originally from New Orleans, LA, where she graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy in May 2022. Throughout her time in pharmacy school, Dr. Copelin was involved in multiple student and leadership organizations. She was a member of Kappa Epsilon Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, Alpha Nu chapter and served as the community service chair. She was also involved in the Student College of Clinical Pharmacy where she was the community outreach chair. Dr. Copelin has a passion for serving her community and helping patients to live happy and healthy lives. Throughout pharmacy school, she enjoyed helping incoming pharmacy students to adjust to professional school, and develop their leadership qualities. Therefore, she was involved in Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership society and Vanguard Interactive Mentors. Dr. Copelin has had an interest in clinical pharmacy, specifically Ambulatory Care, since she learned about it her first year of pharmacy school. She is excited to gain more clinical experience throughout her residency and to be able to work with pharmacy students

 

Taryn Dorius, Pharm D

Dr. Taryn Dorius is an internal medicine clinical pharmacist at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University in 2016 and her PharmD from Creighton University in 2021. Following her time at Creighton University, Dr. Dorius completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. In her pharmacy career, she looks forward to working with future pharmacists as she models her current mentors and those who have shaped her into the pharmacist she has become.

 

April Harris, Pharm D

April Harris is from Leonville, Louisiana. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2021 from the University of Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy.  In June 2022, Harris completed her PGY-1 residency at Unity Health – White County Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas. Currently, Harris is completing her PGY-2 residency in internal medicine at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. She has strong interests in academia and increasing health literacy rates. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, our dogs, Maggie and Moxi, and their cats, Luna and Nova. Her hobbies include distance running, reading, completing puzzles, and crafting.

 

Raha Hosseini, Pharm D

Raha Hosseini is a PGY-1 clinical pharmacy resident at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. Hosseini attended pharmacy school at The University of Hawaii at Hilo and earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2021. Prior to pharmacy school, she attended Louisiana Tech University, where she received a Master of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Her areas of interest in clinical pharmacy include critical care, infectious disease, and oncology. After her PGY-1 residency, she hope to match into a PGY-2 residency and ultimately be part of an academic medical center. Outside of pharmacy, Hosseini's personal interests include any activities involving the ocean, painting abstract or contemporary art, and traveling.

 

Neil Hunter, PharmD., BCSCP

Dr. Hunter is the System Director – Sterile Drug Compounding for Ochsner Health in Louisiana. His practice expertise includes sterile compounding, health-system automation, and drug diversion.  His focus is to automate processes, in a system setting, which allow for a data driven approach to ensure medications are delivered safely, and in a timely manner.

Dr. Hunter currently serves as the President-Elect for the LSHP, and as the President of the South-East LSHP local chapter. In this setting, he is an advocate for hospital pharmacist in the state and is striving to increase Louisiana Pharmacist participation in LSHP.
In his free time, Dr. Hunter enjoys exercising, boating, and watching movies.

 

Eric McCurry, Pharm D

Eric McCurry received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois in 2011. He received his PharmD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2020. McCurry is currently a PGY1 Pharmacy Resident at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. Prior to this, he worked as a Staff Pharmacist for Walmart and Safeway Pharmacies. His current pharmacy areas of interest include Internal Medicine, HIV Medication Management and Infectious diseases.

 

Sarah Midkiff, Pharm D

Sarah Midkiff is a current PGY1 resident at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, LA. Sarah completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. She then completed her PharmD at the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy in Tyler, TX. Sarah has a variety of clinical interests including ambulatory care, emergency and critical care medicine, and infectious disease.

 

Tara Montgomery, Pharm.D, MS, MBA, MPH

Tara Montgomery currently serves as Director of Pharmacy Services at Touro Infirmary/LCMC Health New Orleans, LA. Tara joined the Touro/LCMC Health Team in September 2016, with 20 + years of experience in Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Practice Management. In addition to administrative oversight at Touro, she is the Touro Pharmacy Practice Residency Director and actively precepts Pharmacy students and Residents. Tara’s professional background includes Operational Management, Managed Care, Prescription Benefit Management, Pharmaceutical Industry, and Pharmacy Academia.

 

Taylor Robichaux, Pharm D

Taylor Robichaux is PGY-1 pharmacy resident at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. He graduated from pharmacy school in May 2022 from the University of Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy. Robichaux is originally from New Iberia, Louisiana and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. His current interests are oncology, critical care, and cardiology. Robichaux plans are to pursue a PGY-2 residency after completion of his PGY-1 or to pursue a job as a clinical pharmacist. He is excited to give my CE presentation titled, “Prophylaxis for Chemotherapy-induced Neutropenia and Treatment of Neutropenic Fever.”

 

Kelsey Trimble, Pharm D

In July, Kelsey Trimble celebrated her 15th year as pharmacist at Ochsner LSU Health (well, it has been many different companies in those 15 years). She is on her 11th year as the PGY-1 residency director. Trimble is married and has two boys, Jayden (6) and Jaxson (1).
